The act of eating involves so many of the senses, the nose, the mouth and, almost more than these, the eye.
Food looks delicious, food looks appetising and food can be mouth watering, even when it’s not there and there is nothing to smell, touch or taste. The look of a dish, in reality or on the page is so important and is possibly the reason why food is the most difficult photographic discipline of all.
Therefore, when you want you dishes to look exactly as they did the moment they left the kitchen, they need to be photographed where you are, the very moment they leave the kitchen.
Many, no most photographers see food photography as studio work. This involves the transportation of half a kitchen, your chef, a stylist and possibly you too to a studio that has no real ambiance of its own.
I, on the other hand, prefer to come to you, whether a factory, a restaurant, a pub or even a sushi bar to capture your food at the very moment it leaves the hotplate or the oven. All of this takes place on your own premises which causes you the very minimum of disturbance or fuss and reduces your costs into the bargain.
You can see many more examples of my work on the web site, all of which was taken on location.
If you have any questions, please feel free to call and I will be happy to come to you to discuss your photographic requirements.
