Pasture Perfect® Pork is certified “A” grown to the strict standards of the Organic Food Chain, an internationally recognised organic certifying body. Our Certification number is 0463. Being Organic means that all animals we produce must be born and raised on Certified Organic Land and be fed only feeds that meet the Australian Standards for organic certification, a code that was written by AQIS.
We are the largest Certified Organic Pork Producer in Australia, and the only certified pork producer growing Berkshire/Kurobuta pigs.
We are the only producer in Australia making a full range of Certified Organic Smallgoods These Products include items such as Ham and Bacon in the hot smoked curing category and products like Pancetta, Prosciutto, and Dried Hams give a range of certified organic smallgoods that has not been available previously in Australia. We have spent 6 years researching and working to find a cure that passes the certified organic standards that has the same appeal in taste and colour that the end consumer is accustomed to.
Kurobuta is Japanese for Black Pig, and is synonymous with quality and flavoursome pork. Chefs widely recognize Kurobuta pork as being the finest quality pork available.
Characteristics of Kurobuta meat are that it is more robust (red ) in appearance, and finely marbled and is naturally higher in the essential omega fatty acids.
As the Wagyu is regarded as the best cattle breed for flavour and marbling, so is the Berkshire reknowned for its superior eating quality pork. We have selected bloodlines that have been DNA tested to be related to bloodlines of the Kurobuta pig in Japan. Our breeding stock have also been Supergene® tested for fertility, tenderness and palatability.
